Access Statement
Introduction
Our home is set in the heart Glastonbury and offers B & B accommodation with three guest rooms. The house is over two hundred years old and whilst we aim to meet the needs of all our guests,
there are some features, which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility. All our guest bedrooms are on the first floor. There is flight of stone steps leading to the front door and
are therefore not suitable for wheelchair users.
Pre-Arrival
We are located on Dod Lane, off Chilkwell St, turn second right from Dod lane into our driveway.
The nearest shops and post office are approximately 5-10 minutes walk from the house in Glastonbury
High St. There is a shopping centre in Street, Clarke’s village a short drive away and large shopping centres in Yeovil, Taunton Bristol and Bath.
The nearest bus stop is about 200m away.
The bus runs to many locations such as wells Bristol Bath Yeovil Taunton and villages in between. Full bus timetables are available from First Group

Taxis are usually available here but we can book one for you in advance if required.
There are local taxi companies; we can make advance bookings for you.· We have 2 cats and 1 dog but
we regret that we are unable to accommodate dogs.

Arrival and Car Parking
Please advise us of your anticipated arrival time so that we can welcome you on your arrival.
We request our guests to arrive after 2.00pm so that the guest accommodation is ready. Earlier arrival may, however, be possible by prior arrangements.
The entrance to the car park is up a short steep slope which levels out onto a tarmac parking area at the front of the house.
We offer assistance with luggage.
Main Entrance
There a flight of stone steps & then a 22cm step over the front door.
Please ring the bell on your arrival.
Guest Accommodation – Public Areas
The front door leads into a vestibule, which leads into the hall.
The dining room is located off the hall.
The staircase is located in the hall, leading upstairs to the bedrooms.
The staircase has 21 steps with one hand rail; it is wide with 7inch height steps which are partially carpeted.
Our guest accommodation is on the first floor (please see the Bedrooms section for more information).
The house is centrally heated throughout and temperatures can be adjusted in each room to suit individual requirements
Dining Room
Guests are welcome to use the dining room at any time.
The room has two sofas, straight back chairs can be brought from the dining area. This room has a television, and CD player. The television
is attached to a digi-box and free Wi-Fi access is available for those who wish to connect to the Internet.
The lounge & dining area are stripped pine with a shag pile rug in front of the fire.

Breakfast is served in the dining room
Bedrooms
All three bedrooms are on the first floor and are carpeted.
There are en suite facilities in all the rooms consisting of a shower (one has a bath), WC and wash basin.
Tea and coffee and bottled water facilities are provided.
All rooms have remote-controlled colour televisions with built in digi-boxes.
We also provide a hairdryer, additional pillows, blankets and a hot water bottle in each room.
Fans and electric heaters are available on request if required.
Our beds are made with feather duvets.
We supply both synthetic and feather pillows.
We are happy to provide sheets and blankets if preferred. Please specify, before your arrival, if required.
There is a wardrobe, a dressing table and one or two chairs in each room.
There is a guest information folder in each bedroom, which contains details of the residence, and emergency contact numbers including doctors and hospitals in Dorset.
The Sun & Moon Room
The Sun and Moon room is at the end of the landing on the left after turning left at the top of the stairs.
This room has a 4ft 6” double bed with access from both sides.
The room has 1 radiator that is thermostatically controlled and a separate convector heater.
The en suite room has a shower, bath toilet & hand basin. The floor is tiled and there is a ladder radiator
which provides heating.
The Oak Room
The Oak room is on the right at the end of the corridor after turning right at the top of the stairs.
This room has two 40 inch wide single beds.
The room has 1 radiator that is thermostatically controlled and a separate convector heater.
The en suite room has a shower cubicle, toilet & hand basin. The floor is tiled and there is a ladder radiator to provide heating.
The Phoenix room
The Phoenix room is directly to the right after turning left at the top of the stairs.
This room can has one 6 foot super king-size bed a single truckle bed can be provided for an additional
guest.
The room has 1 radiator that is thermostatically controlled and a separate convector heater.
The en suite room has a shower, toilet and hand basin. The floor is tiled and there is a ladder radiator to provide heating.
Gardens
We have a 1 acre garden with lawns, patio areas, flowerbeds and mature trees.
Guests are welcome to relax in the garden at all times.
Access to the garden is via the front door.
Additional Information
All bedrooms and the landing are equipped with smoke detectors. There is a water fire extinguisher on the landing to the left at the top of the stairs. There is a powder fire extinguisher
and another fire blanket in the kitchen.
In the event of a fire, we will blow a whistle. Please advise us if you have a hearing impairment and might not hear this.
The building can be evacuated through the front door via the hall.
We do not permit smoking in the house but you may smoke in our garden away from the windows.
We are happy to cater for special diets or any particular likes or dislikes. Please advise us of
these before your arrival.
We are happy to refrigerate any medicines.
